Somehow, I have no idea how, I got all of the important blue quests (I'm currently finishing up stormblood)

I’m a trucker and don’t get that long of breaks between shifts (10hr minimum by law, but rarely over 10.5 hours because of scheduling). I usually manage to log on for only an hour or so each day that I have a chance to log on. So, I work on little things I can do by myself. I like having other players around, because it’s less lonely than a single-player game, but I’m not necessarily on there to socialize, and I don’t really have the time to get into the big stuff. 😅

There’s a couple things I’d like to see someday. The first I think would just streamline things, and the second is just a personal preference bit. 1) When “handing over” and item, you’ve got the option to drag and drop, right-click on the item in your inventory, or right click the gray placeholder spot on the “hand over” dialog window that pops up and then select the item that pops up beside the mouse cursor. Remove that last bit. When right clicking where the item goes in the “hand over” dialog box, just put the item there straight away from your inventory without that last extra step. It would probably clean up some code, and streamline the whole process. 2) muscularity slider for Lalafell. With the physical feats my favorite race pulls off _daily_ it makes absolutely no sense that they’re built essentially like Sackboy from Little Big Planet! 😂 Keep the pair-shape, I think it’s endearing, but let’s have an option to trim them up a bit. (I’m well aware that even in their lore it’s mentioned that magic is basically second nature to them and probably assists them in all these things they do in spite of their size, but still.)

The problem is every "expansion" only "expands" the world. Almost never new content that deepen the existing world. No reason to really give a crap about those people you just saved; you'll only see them for a second later to cheer you on at new final boss. Oh great we united the tribes as the one group that would never resort to fighting like the bad guys except of course that's what you'll do when push comes to shove. I mean, cmon. Make more ARR content. Make heavensward not stale, make Stormblood something you can continually engage. What if player actions mattered oh dear lord not that ! ANYTHING but letting the WoL have an impact on the world...

I keep getting invites to FCs, and have been part of 2 since I started back in April. I was offline for a couple months and booted from the first, and after declining a few invites, finally accepted one. Immediately hit with the pinned post/daily thing about all the stuff they do. 😂😅 Oh boy… I was invited to the Novice Network and that’s been pretty awesome by itself. Experience across the board and crazy helpful attitudes. That’s about all I’m looking for, though (that and the Lala parades… keep missing those…)

The amount of hours it takes to level a job I can just work for an hour to pay for it. I don’t need to redo the same content over and over again because I want to try a new job

I’ve only been playing for a few weeks (started mid-April, took a few months off and picked it up again near the end of July), but I can’t get enough. I play Lalafell and wandering around doing things that are just absurd-looking, “asking for uppies” and then backflipping away into a “play dead” just keeps the laughs going and helps me unwind before bed. I’ve got two classes 50+, another mid 40s, a couple more straggling behind, and I just started Heavensward (finished ARR during a 3 week break I had off work back in April… I was hooked)! I’ve even introduced my brother to the game and he loves it too. It helps being FF fans, but there’s always something goofy to do in-game to keep the entertainment value high. If I could play all day every day (about like I did the last half of this April… 😏) I’d still take breaks. But! Being an over the road trucker, I log in every chance I get. It helps me unwind and go to bed with a smile to get even 20 minutes to get on and goof off. My weekends give me a lot more time to play, and that’s when I really get after the leveling/MSQ side of things.

I do think that ff14 needs Chapters. Dawntrail should have given new people an opportunity to get into the story without having to go through months of old content. Create a brand new cast of people with maybe a sprinkle of old characters to tie both new and experienced players together.

I've been healing in MMOs for years, starting as a tree in WoW, and I get the urge to keep everyone topped up; things can go sideways really quickly, and the more health everyone has, the more time you have to fix the problem. I like XIVs combat design that expects healers to dps, but damn if it doesn't feel like a rough switch to make some times; I can only focus on so many things at once! I usually end up targeting the enemy, and hitting the same attack button over and over again while I stare unblinking at the party list to monitor the party health.

I dunno, I think maybe Endwalker from the perspective of someone who plays the game almost every day all day may be 'mid' but as a casual player who isn't a completionist and really just likes to have solo fun with no commitment to anything I'm finding it to be great overall. Honestly the most bored I was with the game was back in ARR, most of the game content was simple, the rotations are easy and the story was the most 'meh' it's ever been, ever since I've loved the game, I haven't played Dawntrail yet though and I'm a little concerned by what I've heard especially as it seems to be heavily weighted on whether or not I like this Wuk Lamat character, but Endwalker I'm loving it, but then I don't try to do everything and I only got the game shortly after Shadowbringers, plus I take breaks to play other games, do some hobbies, live my life spend time with my loved one's. For me it's just not a concern as someone who doesn't make the game my whole life.

Is it possible to get the job specific gear sets from the job quests after buying a level skip?

Y'know. I tried to make suggestions to make the game more alt friendly and was met with: "The systems don't support it" and "You don't need alts just have all jobs on one" which does not appeal to me. I see anyone else wanting such a thing shot down too. It's just... so frustrating, because i'm someone who does like having multiple characters, and evidently wanting things shared in some way is a huge no-no. Sigh.

The Fat Moogle and Fatter Cat are too funny… 😂 any of the Fat _____ mounts are just… *chef’s kiss* Also, White Mages get a unicorn. 😂 I love flying on that thing.

It is interesting to hear that they finally connected all of the Ascian story "dots" in Shadowbringers, because of all of the expansions to me that was extremely great also due to lore, where we learned so much more about Ascians and they went from "fellas in the back doing bad stuff" to something completely different. Still "evil" in that sense but there appeared purpose behind it, reason. Made me respect them more. Still was going to stop them but at least I understood why. And I liked how they did relic weapons in Endwalker. To me the story itself is more important, things and choices you do during it to perhaps form the weapon. Finishing it with tomestones is fine. Brain-numbing grind, doing some instance over and over again just to get multiple copies of same drop, farming fates and what not - that kills any and all fun. Grinding. Sucks. There's no achievement in it, no accomplishment other then "I had more free time per day then you did, so I this grind took me less time then for you". And it wasn't "less work" or "shorter journey" in Endwalker, you literally had to do the WHOLE Manderville quest line to get to the point of getting that relic weapon. Sure, to a 10 year player this is shorter journey in the end, but to a recent player this is a whole long quest line with instances and all to accomplish. That's quite a journey.

I honestly have had a really toxic FC situation. Sadly, I started playing FF14 with them, but they do nothing and somehow expect me to bring life into the fc. They insisted I basically never ever ever do content without them, then never wanted to do any of the content I wanted to. Being with them long term has prevented me from even experiencing some of the big side dungeons/raids/alliance raids from the beginning all the way to Shadowbringers. When I start playing again, I'm leaving. And I wonder what's going to come next.

Ah! The laugh from your little flashback of healing in crafting gear. I feel that. 🙂‍↕️🤣 I’m coming from WoW and started Conjurer for White Mage. I want to be a healer, but _damn_ it’s kicking my ass. 😅 I heard how we all _help_ with damage when in a party. I suck at that though. I’ve lost too many party members to not getting the hang of healing *and* dishing out damage. Literally couldn’t get the heals off quick enough. Slowly started realizing and researching attributes on gear that would speed the process up. Still a struggle at lv 54. 😅 On the walking part: if you think about it… were any of us to wake up in Eorzea tomorrow, we’re probably _not_ going to be running everywhere! 😂

I love all the little oddities like the Lala thing, and the behemoth mount bits. It’s things like that (the emotes before the freeze, dances to the drums, etc) that just make Eorzea a place I can’t wait to get back to. 😂

The tv traversing gets tiring very quickly in the beginning. But when i got to chapter 3, it was more engaging to use cuz of the mechanics during that. Especially since there was a bit of context lore layered in, it added to the bigger mystery of everything. World building.
